Kheerganga Trek Many people’s first experience in the Himalayas seems to be hiking. The swaying pine trees, the Parvati River and the shady path leading to the Kheerganga hot springs fascinate everyone.
However, this is only a precursor to the great journey beyond Kheerganga.
There is no Buni Buni pass, why hiking in Kheerganga is not complete
One day trek from Kheerganga to Buni Buni pass, start a real hike near Kheerganga. You will head into the dense oak forest behind the busy pilgrimage trail. The forest is lined by carpets of brown leaves. There is no one but you on foot.
The forest caused snow-capped mountains to suddenly appear on the surface. Below, the magnificent Parvati Valley stretches into the distance. We camped on the grass directly below the pass. The next day, we went down to Barchenyi via the magnificent forest route.
The Trek
Access to Barshaini Kheerganga Trek
Buni Buni Pass is located in Barshaini. You can get to Bhuntar, a trip of three hours, which is the best way to get there. Before Kullu, Bhuntar fell on the Delhi-Manali highway. Get off if you take the bus. leave here. Plan Bhuntar at 7am to arrive at the two very beautiful places, Casor or Manikaran as early as possible. It is a good way to adapt to the environment. The town is Barshani. A small dam on the Parvati River is the highlight of the town. On the other side of the river, you will see a small town called Purga. The village can be explored through the Barshaini wall.
Trekking Trail from Barshaini to Kheerganga is very popular. Kheerganga hot springs are well known.
Take this route from Barshaini. You will come to a dam on the Parvati River about 900 meters from Barshaini. Parvati merged with the Tosh River near the dam.
After crossing the dam, take the road uphill to the left. After climbing about 600m, you will reach dhaba. This is a great place to rest because you can admire the beautiful surroundings and hear the Parvati and Tosh rivers below.
When you leave Daba, the path changes. Pine and chestnut trees are covered. From this moment on, the climb is very slow. Enjoy the river flowing along the jungle trail. On this trail you will see a lot of trees falling down. If necessary, you can use them as reference points.
After 2.55 kilometers from Barshaini, you will come to a stream. Use the wooden bridge to cross to the other side. About 200 m from the stream, there is another dhaba. Continue on this road. After about a kilometer, you will come to another stream. This is a good place to refill a water bottle.
On the road, about 300m from the second stream, there will be a big rock. You will have to bend over to negotiate. Within 5 minutes of walking along the rocks, you will see a village on the left across the river. This is Nathan, a beautiful town with a few cabins.
After approximately
hours, you will reach another Dhaba. 700 m (4.2 kilometers from Barshany). Keep going. Keep going. In fact, you will pass many dhabas on this little path. They are all landmarks and they also have good food if you want to eat. One kilometer away, you will come to another Daba.
During the hike, you will hear a loud noise from a waterfall of approximately 5.4 kilometers. The trail turns steeply for about 300 meters from here. It is also rocky and muddy. At the end of the steep part of the waterfall, you will be welcomed. To enjoy the view, you can stop here.
Walk along the waterfall and enjoy the breeze. They will take you to another waterfall one kilometer on this trail. This is a good place to rest and eat.
You will reach rocky terrain about 7.55 kilometers from Barhsaini. Be careful when navigating because it is a bit difficult. The climb is very gradual. You will reach an important location where the landslide occurred earlier, about half a kilometer away. It takes about 30-45 minutes to walk to Kheerganga from here. There are many dhabas in
Kheerganga and there are hotels and campsites all over the country. Kheerganga crossing and hiking is about 800 m. The area is separated from the Kheerganga crowd. This is a lovely and peaceful camping site.
